Gökhan Kaya’s third film, Hasa, was adapted for the screen in 2016 as a loose adaptation of a real event. Based on a bomb attack where many people lost their lives, the film includes a subplot alongside the main story. Hasa was a finalist in many festivals, notably the European Union Human Rights Film Festival, the Ankara Film Festival, and the Izmir Film Festival.
